I Didn't Say Anyone Should Go And Die - El-Rufai

El-Rufai

In the, he was quoted to have said: “If you are not happy with appointments made, you can go and climb Kufena mountain, fall and die. It was what you voted for that you got, because we are aware that there are people who did not vote for us, in fact, they worked against us. But now they claim to be APC members and loyal to the party. We know such people. And so there is no way they would expect anything from us.”
However, yesterday, October 20, the governor said he was misrepresented on comments he made during the interactive segment at a Town Hall meeting with stakeholders on Saturday.

In a statement made available by El-Rufai’s media assistant, Samuel Aruwan, the  governor made it known that he did not ask anyone to die over appointments, adding that he was only making it known that those who aren’t good with his appointments can climb the Kufena Hills and jump.
The governor added that what he said at the meeting was: “All of us in the Kaduna State government have sworn with the Quran; Christians with the holy bible, to do justice and we will do justice. We better stand and tell ourselves the truth. Everyone knows the truth. No matter the noise, the truth is constant. And as I stand here, no matter who you are, I will face you and tell you the truth. If you don’t want to hear the truth, you can climb Kufena Hills and jump.”
He pointed out that the word “die” was a fabrication dressed as a direct quote due to the fact that his comments were translated from Hausa.
Just recently, . He dismissed the accusation as a flight of the imagination of some elements who are not satisfied with the crucial changes going on in the state.
