Live above board, Commissioner tells Arts Council

 Kwara State commissioner for Social Development Culture and Tourism, Hajia Iyabo Adewuyi has charged staff of the state Arts Council to live above board and be up and doing in discharging their duties of promoting the state's rich culture.

The commissioner gave the advice during the weekend while receiving members of the state Arts Council led by the Director, Mr Oyewole Adebisi. Hajia Adewuyi who expressed concern over the fading away of the state�s rich culture, urged the council to brace up and prevent these cultures from extinction.

She also spoke of the present administration's determination to restore the lost glory of the council by making it compete favourably with other states art councils.

Also speaking, the Ministry's Permanent Secretary, Alhaji Abdulganiyu Mustapha highlighted the relevance of the arts council in the state and commended its efficiency in stage performance.

The Director, state arts council, Mr Oyewole Adebisi had in his remark congratulated both the commissioner and the permanent secretary on their appointments.

Adebisi who highlighted challenges confronting the council called on government to as matter of urgency address the council�s structural, vehicular and financial problems.
